Plug-in Media is looking for an experienced producer to join our busy team at an exciting point in our journey.  You’ll be the type of person who gets a real buzz from working with talented people to turn great ideas into reality.  You will be a lynchpin within the business working across all our projects - animation and games, original IP and client work.  It will be down to you to ensure that projects are run to time and on budget, and are delivered to the highest level of quality for which we are best known.  

We are a BAFTA winning next generation production studio with a reputation for producing creative work of the highest quality.  Via our partnership with Blue Zoo we are looking to scale up and take on larger animation projects, so there will be plenty of opportunity for growth in this role. 

Our busy studio has a fun atmosphere, where everyone’s voice is heard.  We are still operating a hybrid work environment, but excited to be moving into a brand new studio space in central Brighton, in the coming month. For more information about our work see:

Key tasks/main responsibilities:

Leader & Problem Solver

  • You will manage our internal production staff and freelancers to help realise complex, and highly creative projects to the highest standard of excellence.
  • You will work with senior members of the team to ensure that the company strategy and values are being implemented at all levels within the business.
  • You will be excited about creative work and have the calm, kind and  supportive management skills that help creative teams thrive.
  • You will enjoy getting stuck into a creative brief, and proactively bring new ideas and solutions.

Delivery expert

  • Attention to detail is paramount.  You will be thorough and engaged throughout the production process.  Ensuring that anything that leaves the building has been through the most thorough quality assurance.
  • You will be used to working within multi-disciplinary teams with an understanding of the processes involved in producing both interactive and linear animated media.
  • You will have very strong written and verbal communication skills and understand how to communicate the creative vision for a project to a range of different stakeholders both internal and external.
  • You will apply rigorous production management procedures to project delivery - know how to produce a schedule and a budget, how to manage scope, assign internal tasks, and write regular status reports for clients.
  • You will be responsible for the quality of service that our clients receive.   You will communicate confidently and professionally with them, both current and future.

Commercial operator

  • You will prepare schedules, budgets and quotes for both our existing and future clients. 
  • You will be expected to help out on pitches, preparing documentation and presenting to clients.
  • You will have an in-depth understanding of the children and families audience and understand how the animation and games industries within this sector function. 
  • You will bring an understanding of a range of different business models available across the spectrum of digital platforms.
  • You will be  keeping abreast of new technology and have a keen understanding of its exploitation across a range of different digital platforms.

What sort of person are we looking for?

  • An inspirational team leader.
  • Someone with over 3 years experience of project managing interactive and/or animation projects on time and to budget, and to multiple stakeholders.
  • Someone who is really well-organised and can keep on top of multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Someone with a can do mentality – particularly when trying to do new stuff.
  • A team player who listens to those around you and can incorporate feedback to evolve a better product.
  • Someone who can work well under pressure and remain calm when faced with sometimes challenging deadlines.
  • A high level of competence with all the usual software, particularly G-suite.
  • A connected person, who attends industry events, is interested in industry trends, and keeps their own ‘black book’ of freelance production talent.
